A half open formal barong in natural cocoon silk, ADAM carries the EN Barong Filipino name, finished with long sleeves and a regular collar. Cocoon silk is reeled from the cocoon of the Bombyx mori silkworm, prized as both the strongest and, for its weight, the lightest natural textile fiber. This half-open construction is known as “pechera” (from the Spanish pecho, “chest”) — the oldest and most classic barong style, with embroidery concentrated along the chest opening.
