Katmon is a ladies formal barong in natural pure ramie, finished with butterfly sleeves and a round collar. Ramie was known in the early 1900s as gusot mayaman, “wrinkled fabric for the rich” — a nod to both its cost and its tendency to crease — and takes dye well while growing smoother with each wash. Part of the Mayumi line, categorized as ladies’ barong.
