MARGARITA is a full-front open kimona top with one hook and eye enclosure in front in natural silk cocoon, finished with bell sleeves. This silk is reeled from the cocoon of the Bombyx mori silkworm, prized as both the strongest and, for its weight, the lightest natural textile fiber. The embroidery is hand-worked rather than machine-run, a slower and more labor-intensive method associated with the Philippines’ formal barong tradition.
